Recently recieved a regen in process exhaust 100% full.... i promptly drove to the highway and traveled around 35-40 miles 70mph at 1500-2000 rpms. Excessive idling does cause the DPF to need a regen more often. The Pete I was in, it was recommended that if we had to idle due to temps, that we raise the idle to 1500 to help keep the DPF hot enough to regen itself. Some have the capability to do parked regens if you toggle it initially in a parked state, but putting the truck in park after an active regen has started during a drive will interrupt it.The regen can take anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour or more. Do not throttle the engine or release the parking brakes during this time. Once the process is completed, the light will turn off and you can then go back to regular operation.
